Durban Country Club in Durban, South Africa
Durban Country Club
PAR 73, 3 Rounds

Just to stand on the clubhouse verandah and look out over the outgoing first fairway, and the pristine 18th green to the left with its undulating fairway behind, picking up the breath of the sea as it drifts in from your right, makes one lose all sense of reality and time One conjures up the crowds, the agonies and ecstasies on these demanding holes, and the great men who left their divots behind on these hallowed, unrelenting playing fields carved into these once sand dunes, and then you realise you are here - Durban Country Club.
Not in their wildest dreams could Messrs. Waterman and Waters the architects ever have imagined that their creation would make such a remarkable contribution to the world of golf. In any golfer's books, Durban Country Club rates as one of the finest courses in the world, let alone Africa, or even South Africa. Rated as the second best course in the Southern Hemisphere by Golf International's panel, there is little argument to this definitive statement. Underlining that is the 462m par 5 third hole - the most popular, most photographed, and called the best third hole in the world by some, and the best par 5 in golf by others. No wonder that Durban Country Club has hosted more South African Open Championships (14) than any other course selected for this desirable honour.

3rd best round on day 3, gives Nora a top 20 finish - well done!
74, 1 over par at today's 3rd round and Nora Angehrn climbs the leaderboard. Nora is quite happy with her 19th place: "It's difficult to tee up after a win - and it's good to learn this". It's her second tournament in the price money and this gives her confidence for the upcoming events.
A big fight with wind and rain ends up in a 83 - 10 over par for day 2
"I haven’t found my swing from the first tee on" Nora said after the round which makes the conditions even harder. On top of that Nora struggled with her putting at the end of her round and this ended in an 83. "But all this is still no excuse for a +10”, she said and added: "but I made the cut and I still hold the 30th place. Tomorrow is a new day and she knows what’s possible!

Unfortunately, the other Swiss players didn't make the cut of +16. Keep going girls!
