What a day for Nora Angehrn - not the Golf she expected
You can say it's just one of those days where nothing works – in a nutshell, that’s the conclusion of Nora’s round today. Everything was prepared, well prepared indeed and despite a positive mindset the result was a low round. Nora had to start at the 10th hole and she began with two bogeys in a row. Two feasible putts didn't find the hole on the difficult greens. Then she played a solid golf with very good drives from the tee and missed some birdie chances. Nora was 4 over after 16 holes and then had a putt for eagle on the 17th where, in the end, she made a birdie. So she was 3 over again and very positive for another 5 birdies to go. Unfortunately, she had a bad lie after a good tee shot on the 18th hole (again!) and dropped another two shots. Nora really fought hard and she never gave up, but it was not her tournament. Be with us next week at the Wales Championship of Europe.

It was a tough day today for Nora!
After a good tee shot Nora was able to go for the green on her first hole (par 5). Just the lie of the ball wasn't perfect – with no grass on the fairway. Nora made a solid par but the good drive with the bad lie was the story for the whole day. Good tee shot on 2, bad bounce and no shot into the green. Good tee shot on 3, bad bounce and a 14 meter putt, and so on. So, after that round you really knew that golf is hard work for a professional. Nora made great saves and she putted fantastically on those greens. On the back nine she did find her game slowly but surely and worked out some nice birdie opportunities, unfortunately she missed those 3 birdies chances on holes 14, 17 and 18. With par on the back nine she could regain some confidence for tomorrow’s 2nd round.

It's a beautiful course with demanding greens
Nora Angehrn will tee off in the afternoon for her first round today so we give you brief information about the home course of Annika Sörenstam. It's a Par 73 course, with five Par 5's close to Stockholm. It's a wonderful parkland course with a lot of undulated greens which will be the key factor for all players this week. It needs patience and good drives, in order to have a chance to attack the pin. It is definitely not the case that they can birdie the Par 5 because on those greens you may easily have a 55 meter putt over two huge waves. Nora had a very good practice round together with Lisa Hall and Karen Lunn. Yesterday, she practiced a lot to get the pace on the greens.
