A tough day for Nora but a good finish
It's not the much needed top rank but it's a solid result to get back confidence for tour school. Nora played well but the putter was cold as ice today. Good putts just lipped-out all the time and so she had to finish with a round of 73 (+1). At the end it was a good tournament for her where she showed herself that she can score under par again. Now, Nora will prepare for tour school in October.
What a day for Nora - 69, 3 under Par
It could have been even better but Nora will take that 3 under Par for a Total of -1. The day started bad with a bogie on her first hole (nb. 10), a difficult Par 3 but then Nora played solid golf and holed the putts. "It could have been easy 7 under", as her caddy said, because many putts just missed the hole. It was difficult to putt today because due to those wet conditions the greens were very "bumpy". Now, Nora has a good opportunity to focus on her target because she knows that she can go low.
A solid round which took about 8 hours to finish
It was difficult for everybody during yesterdays first round. Rain delay and some greens under water made it impossible to play. Nora had to play her first 3 holes and then they stopped it again with the long wait beginning. Nora played pretty solidly but was unable to take advantage of the Par 5 at all. Some more birdies on that holes and she may finish low. Today, Nora has a day off and will play her second round hopefully on Saturday morning, so the tournament is only over 3 rounds.
It's the last chance on a beautiful course and Nora is ready
It's not good to increase the pressure but at the same time it's the last chance to qualify for the 2008 LET for Nora. In the end, Nora must have a 1st or 2nd place this week to get into the top 80 spots in the 2007 order of merit. Nora arrived yesterday and played the back nine holes (nr. 13 and 16 are new holes). She feels very good and her attitude is the right one "anything can happen - I have the game to win, I just have to bring it on the course". |
