What a disappointing score for Nora Angehrn, 85 - +13 for today
No birdie in the second round for Nora and a disappointing 85 on the scorecard. Everybody will think that it should have been easy to make the cut (+7) but it's very difficult when you play an event like that. "That was a really tough day, shooting 85 with a solid ball striking is very depressing", Nora said after her round. It was her first time in a big tournament like this one and to be in the top ten after round one is not easy to handle. As she said she did hit the ball very well. Compared with yesterdays round her drives did find some bunkers from the tee today and on a Links Course everybody knows what this means. "It was a fantastic experience", she said and this is the positive thing she has to bring out of that tournament. There will be many other tournaments like this one in the future.
What a brilliant start into that tournament, 71 - 1 under Par for today
3 birdies and one double on the Par 5 6th hole and the rest all played Par is the very nice result of day one at the Weetabix Women's British Open for Nora Angehrn. To play that solidly on a windy Links Course requires a lot of confidence something that Nora has - even more after that round. With that result Nora stays at a tied 7th place after day one and we are all looking forward to the weekend - Congratulations Nora.
The Weetabix Women's British Open - preview
For sure it's the highlight of Nora's short career so far. The Women's British Open at Royal Lytham & St. Annes is one of the biggest tournaments on the Ladies Tour Calendar and Nora qualified for it. "It's different to play on a Links course - especially on one of the most famous courses in Great Britain", but you never know. Nora is ready and she is there to win, as well as on every other tournament too. |
