Algarve Ladies Open of Portugal
from Fri, June 24, 2005 to Sun, June 26, 2005

Gramacho Golf Course in Algarve, Portugal
Gramacho Golf Course
PAR 72, 3 Rounds

This was originally a nine hole course which has been extended and cleverly redesigned to become a fully fledged 18-hole course. A formidable challenge to its designer! The course covers undulating terrain with olive, almond and carob trees scattered as planted years before by the local farmers. The course is designed for the player to be technically accurate and to know which club to choose before hitting the ball. Anything less will quickly increase his score.

Comments

78, 6 over par and Nora missed the cut
After a solid first 9 holes, Nora knew that she would have to do something. She was 5 over in the tournament and so far the cut seems to be at 2 over par, so she needed birdies. To risk all for a birdie is not always the best way, but it definitely was today. Unfortunately, it didn't happen and Nora ended with 5 over for the back nine and no birdie. "It's the same if you miss the cut by 1 or 8 strokes". Although Nora is understandably disappointed she still is in a good mood: "I just love this game", she said and "I'm looking forward to the Ladies English Open".

76, 4 over par for the first round Nora started with a double bogey into her tournament and had quite a hard round of golf. "The wind was incredibly strong", she said, and 76 is a good round of golf. With this tied 76th place, Nora is still in contention for the cut-line.
