A good tournament and another step for Nora
It was a difficult week for Nora and Mike. So many spectators, a home tournament, interviews, knowing so many people and the expectations of the Swiss Golf World. On that one: Thank you all for your support in Losone its been great to play golf here!
It was a difficult last round with a great start and birdies on holes one and two. A bad tee shot on the 9th into the water and Nora was back to +1 before her final round. Again, good saves and some missed putts and a final 74 (2 over par) for Nora. A great finish on the first home tournament for Nora - Well done.
With big saves to a 71, -1 under and a move on the leaderboard
What a finish from Nora Angehrn with two balls in the water - one at the 17th and the other one at the 18th hole - she managed two great pars on the final holes. It was a good round of golf which could have been in the low 60's. Nora played again very well off the tee and did hit 15 greens in regulation, only getting 1 birdie out of that. The putting wasnt bad at all, it was just not meant to be on this day - but as her caddy Mike said, tomorrow is another day and her golf is currently very nice.
Solid after 9 - bad holes up to the 15th and a great finish for a 76 and the cut
It was again a tough day with a good birdie on hole 1 and one bogey on the front nine. Nora Angehrn was fighting by the time and not a single par was easy. With some unnecessary bogeys on holes 10, 12 and the doubles on the 13th and 15th - where Nora did hit a rock out of the deep grass - she was in real troubles. But Nora showed the crowd what she had learnt during her first year and with two easily played birdies on holes 17 and 18 she made her 3rd consecutive cut on the LET.
Good saves and a solid 71 (-1) on the first round
It was a tough day with a good end for Nora Angehrn. The 71 - 1 under par - is a solid result for the first round and it was plain to see for everyone that Nora has the pace to match with the big names. It was a nice day with very good saves on the last two holes. Tomorrow, Nora will tee up in the afternoon and enjoy her game with two great flight partners. |
