A 72 (1 under par) was enough for Nora Angehrn’s second win

1 under today and won by 2! What a great start for Nora into the 2006 Season. After her first win in 2005 as professional, Nora realized her so far greatest success in her still young career as professional golfer.
Nora Angehrn, who held the overnight lead in the 54-hole strokeplay event, dropped a shot on the par-4 where she lost the outright lead and then had three putts on the 6th only to fall behind Helena Alterby of Sweden who then took the lead after she birdied the 7th. As she explained later, Nora lost confidence in her putting: “the lines were really good, but I just couldn’t sink them.” A good par-save on the 9th calmed her nerves, which then led to birdies on holes 10, 14 (with a long putt of about 12 metres) and a chip-in birdie on the 16th. That took her overall tournament score to 9-under par for the three rounds, good enough for victory and the R45 000 (CHF 9'000) winner’s cheque.

The whole team is very proud to be part of this success.

Round 2: What a great round and Nora Angehrn tops the leaderboard

"I love this course", Nora said after the practice round on Tuesday and it seems that she was right. Nora played a great 68 (5 under par) for a total of -8 and the lead after round two. Nora birdied the 16th and the 18th to snatch the lead by one shot. Tomorrow, they will tee off early because of thunder storm warnings in the afternoon. Nora's tee time is 9 am and we wish her all another great round for her second win as professional golfer.

The other Swiss players made the cut (Florence Lüscher and Frederique Seeholzer) and Florence is close to the lead. With scores of 72 and 68, Florence is at -6 and just 2 shots away from the lead and hopefully we will have two Swiss players in the last flight!
