The 5845-metre course takes you past calm lakes and secret pine woods, with breathtaking views of the hills on one side and ocean on the other.

It was nearly unplayable under these wind conditions and the play was suspended
Nora had to play in the morning and already then the wind was blowing. "I had to hit a 5 iron for 120 meters", Nora said after the round and nobody can predict what the ball will do. So it's kind of luck and not the same for everybody. That's why the LET suspended the play at 3pm and they will restart tomorrow - bad luck for Nora but that's professional golf.
An opening round of 74 (+2) at the Estoril Ladies Open of Portugal
At the end it was a good 74 for a 39th place after round 1. Difficult conditions with changing winds made it very hard and tricky to play. Nora was 4 over after 13 holes and with two good birdies on holes 14 and 15 (both Par 3) she finished with a 74, 2 over par. With that score she is only 4 shots away from a top ten position, so with a good round tomorrow, Nora will move up the leaderboard.
The wind will be the most difficult factor this week
It's a great course and the wind is blowing. "I had to hit a 3-wood into a 135 Meter Par 3", Nora said after the Pro-Am yesterday. At that time the event was on the verge of being cancelled. "They didn't cut the greens for two days. Otherwise the ball would just roll away with the wind". |
